“Thank You. Goodnight. Live Tracks from Bonnaroo & Vegoose”

imageNovember 6th marks the release of “Thank You. Goodnight. Live Tracks from Bonnaroo and Vegoose,” a collection of 10 live performances from Jack Johnson, G. Love & Special Sauce, Matt Costa, Money Mark and ALO. The album will be available to purchase at Independent Music Stores in the US, at both Bonnarroo and Vegoose music festivals, as well as at the artist’s websites.

A preorder through Musictoday will begin instantly through Bonnarro and Vegoose websites. All preorders will automatically register for a chance to win a grand prize package of Brushfire’s full artist catalogue along with two guest VIP tickets for Bonnaroo 2008.

Over the past few years, Brushfire artists have been pleased to be a part of the amazing festival lineups at both Bonnaroo and Vegoose. This compilation captures just a few of the great moments laid to tape in Manchester and Las Vegas, including:

Jack Johnson’s “Island Style” a duet with local Hawaiian star John Cruz as well as “Staple it Together”, and “Constellations”, two tracks from his 2005 triple platinum LP In Between Dreams.

G. Love and Special Sauce’s “Take You There” from 1997’s Yeah It’s That Easy, and “Hot Cookin’” from his latest (and fastest selling) LP Lemonade.

Matt Costa’s “Songs We Sing” and “These Arms” from his debut album, Songs We Sing.

Money Mark’s “Color Of Your Blues”, from his debut LP Brand New By Tomorrow.

ALO’s “BBQ” and “Wasting Time” from their 2005 release Fly Between Falls.

Carrying on the tradition of great festival appearances, ALO performed at this weekend’s Vegoose Festival, held October 27th and 28th at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium. The lineup for Bonnaroo 2008 will be announced early next year.

Danny Riley Live at Rocks!

Posted in Live Shows, Matthew McAvene, Danny Riley by admin on the August 16th, 2007

Danny Riley, October 20, 2006
Rocks, Santa Barbara, CA

Check out a wonderful performance of Danny Riley singing at Santa Barbara’s own Rocks bar and club on State Street from last October 2006. Danny was invited out to perform some songs for the crowd by Matthew McAvene during one of his weekend sets at Rocks… Danny was very well received while Matthew’s band backed Danny with mandolin (Anders Bergstrom), bass (Paul Wilcox) and drums (Steve Campbell). Danny performed three of his singles, “See You Tomorrow,” “Through Their Eyes,” and “Passing By.” The latter two songs appear on the Solutions for Dreamers compilation CD series (”Passing By” on Season 1 and “Through Their Eyes” on Season 2). Enjoy the music!

1) “See You Tomorrow”

2) “Through Their Eyes”

3) “Passing By”

“Hay Everybody” Album Release

I’m so excited to be releasing my debut album “Hay, Everbody!” It’s spelled “Hay” because I’m from Hayward, and I’m just so proud of that! Anyways, I recorded this album in my garage with my microphone from Radio Shack and my boombox from ‘84 with tapes, and it took me about a year and a half, on and off, to make it. Then I got the tapes transferred to a cd with the beats. The cd will be available through my website and my myspace and hopefully even itunes and big time places like that! I’m going to do as many shows as I can to promote the cd and I hope you can make it out to the shows! Stay tuned at www.guadalajarajoe.org and at www.myspace.com/guadalajarajoe for more details!

Thanks, Everybody!

Guadalajara Joe at the Fillmore!!

Fillmore Performance, San Francisco, CA

Regarding perfoming at the Fillmore on Cinco de Mayo- it was AMAZING! About a year ago I was performing “Armando Telemundo” at an open mic night with Armando Telemundo and we were asked to never come back because they were not into our style! It goes to show that if you do what you love to do and have fun doing it, then there’s no stopping you! Also, I want to thank the ALO posse for letting me mc and perform for their big show! I’ve only known them about a year when we met on Friendster.com or was it craigslist?, but it seems like I’ve known them since college or something!

The Happening - Art, Film & Music Festival

Posted in Live Shows, Art Event, Matt Costa, Culver City Dub Collective by admin on the January 20th, 2007

The Happening, January 20, 2007
Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA

The Happening is a festival that combines art, film and music that promotes forward thinking artists, filmmakers and musicians, especially those who cater to the surf and environmental movements. This year the Orange County Museum of Art provided a perfect free-flowing venue for festival-goers to wander through. It seemed there were as many people with cameras as without, so this was a well documented event. Below are a few photos of the second day of the festival which feature Culver City Dub Collective, some of the art exhibits as well as headliner Matt Costa. We look forward to next year, but if you are on the east coast, make sure to check out the April festival in NYC (visit www.thehappeninglive.com for more info).

Culver City Dub Collective - Adam Topol is Jack Johnson’s drummer and in his off time he formed the afro-cuban groove and dub group known as CCDC. With each show this group is improving, showing off its capabilities of musicianship as well as reading the energy of the crowd.

Film and Art - There were several short films and promo ads screened as well as the newest feature film from the Malloys, “1st and Hope.” Also, art by Thomas Campbell Wolfgang Bloch and many others filled the exhibit walls in the entrance of the festival.

Matt Costa - Recently back from Australia, Matt Costa’s new and improved 5 piece band headlined the second day of the Happening. People really enjoyed the rocking set which featured a couple new songs that Costa played acoustically. The new drummer and bass player have been touring with Matt for close to a year now and their sound has gelled to perfection– these guys rock.
